Foundations in British Columbia

Cause We Care Foundation is a Vancouver-based foundation that raises funds to support frontline organizations that assist local single mothers and their children.

The Vancouver Foundation has responded to COVID-19 by partnering with Vancity Credit Union, United Way Lower Mainland and the City of Vancouver. Together, they have created the Community Response Fund (CRF) to help charities most affected by COVID-19.

 

Foundations in Alberta

The Community Foundation of Northwestern Alberta responded to COVID-19 by creating the Better Together COVID Response Fund. The fund supports qualifying charities while they deal with the current crisis and will continue to support them as they transition back to pre-pandemic norms.

The Rozsa Foundation responded to COVID-19 by creating Programming Cancellation Grant and the Online Programming Grant to support local organizations through these uncertain times. The Foundation discovered that  many people turned to the arts in the wake of the virus. They are committed to supporting their local community by helping people stay connected through art.

The Max Bell Foundation created the Additional Funding Priority-Policies for Recovery from the Pandemic initiative in response to COVID-19. Max Bell Foundation intends to fund the development of public policy strategies the will support Canada's recovery from the pandemic.

Foundations in Saskatchewan

The Community Initiatives Fund is working with local charities and grant applicants as different challenges arise from the impact of COVID-19. It is also supporting local charities by providing access to funding for cancelled or postponed events due to COVID-19.

The South Saskatchewan Community Foundation responded to COVID-19 by putting together the Emergency Response Fund for Community Needs, supporting charities who are directly dealing with the effects of COVID-19. To date, SSCF have donated to over 30 charities across the province and have surpassed $950,000 in COVID-19 related grants.

 

Foundations in Manitoba

The Winnipeg Foundation has responded by developing COVID-19 Response Grants and a Community Response Fund. They offer emergency support to community organizations in immediate need and also offer additional flexible supports for organizations experiencing larger effects due to the pandemic via stabilization grants.

The Winkler Community Foundation responded to COVID-19 by launching the Pay It Forward May Campaign with Modern Area Foundation. It encourages communities to share stories of kindness and generosity as a way of coping with the crisis.
